Wireless Networks Rule The World

The world has moved on to wireless networking in most areas. Since, the World War II wireless networks have made a strong impact. A wireless network can be termed as the telecommunications network in which the nodes are connected with each other without any wire. There are different types of wireless networks. Also, their uses are spread all across in many fields. So let's discuss more on this.

The wireless network makes use of radio waves to carry the information from one device to another. Technically, the implementation of a wireless network takes place at the physical layer of the network (likewise in OSI model).

The basic process of communication within a wireless network is described here. The data is translated in the radio signal by computer's wireless adapter and transmitted by the antenna. Then this signal is decoded by a wireless router which then forwards the information to the Internet. To do this, the use of physical and wired Ethernet connection is required. This process also moves in the opposite direction.

There exist different types of wireless networks. Wireless LAN, Wireless MAN, and Mobile devices networks are some of the examples of it. WLAN or Wireless Local Area Network makes use of radio waves instead of wires to transport data from one computer to another, on the common network.

Wi-Fi is one of the commonly used wireless networks in computer systems. It enables the connection to Internet or other machines which possess Wi-Fi functionalities. Wi-Fi networks air radio waves are easily picked up by the Wi-Fi receivers and attached to various computers.

Fixed wireless data is one such wireless network which is used to connect two or more constructions together. This way, the network bandwidth is shared or extended without any physically wires between the constructions.

Wireless MAN is used to connect a number of Wireless LANs. Wireless MANs is referred to as WiMAX. Other than these wireless networks, there exist some mobile devices networks too like GSM, PCS, etc.

The use of wireless networks can be seen everywhere. The cell phones which you use daily to communicate are an integral part of the vast wireless network systems. Wireless systems like satellite systems permit you to send information from one country to another.

Various emergency services like the police department utilize wireless networks for prompt transfer of information. An endless number of offices send and share information all across the world. The Internet, for example, is the cheapest and fastest way to stay connected with your clients or dear ones as it isn't bound by any state or country.

Also, with the wireless networks, the need of messy cables is eliminated completely. Hence, without wireless networks, the present world is very hard to imagine. With innovations in wireless technologies, you can definitely expect greater advances in wireless network benefits.
